Abstract :
This study explores the "Components and Mechanisms of Effective Teaching," aiming to identify the key elements that contribute to high-quality teaching and their underlying processes. Effective teaching is vital for student success, and this research synthesizes findings from literature reviews, observational studies, and teacher surveys to outline essential components. Key components include clear and structured lesson planning, engaging instructional strategies, formative assessment, feedback mechanisms, and fostering a positive classroom environment. The study also highlights the importance of promoting student engagement and motivation, differentiating instruction, and building strong teacher-student relationships.
The mechanisms through which these components influence student learning are examined, focusing on cognitive, behavioural, and socio-emotional pathways. Effective teaching practices enhance cognitive processing, encourage active participation, and build students' self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation. Additionally, a supportive classroom climate reduces anxiety and fosters a sense of belonging, essential for optimal learning. The findings emphasize the need for a holistic approach to teacher development, including targeted professional development, continuous support for reflective practice, and collaborative learning communities. This study provides a comprehensive framework for enhancing educational outcomes by understanding the components and mechanisms of effective teaching.
